Garrett Devine did not merely start fast. He won October outright. Loading 146 points onto the Dodgers produced a 169-point MLB card, 1st place and the full 251 league points.
The aggression traveled. Devine stacked the Ducks for a 541.33 NHL total and placed 4th for 248 points. Between those bookends, he took 20th in NFL Survivor and backed the Seahawks to the NFL title on a card that reached 21st.
A 176th-place NBA read was the obvious soft spot, but not one of Devine's contests fell into the bottom quarter. His 1828 points put him 5th after a 3-place slide, still one of the season's most convincing examples of what happens when big positions hit.
