Two ugly scores obscure how commanding Bryce Burke was almost everywhere else. NFL Survivor buried him at 221st, and the World Cup later landed 202nd. Around those trapdoors, he assembled seven finishes of 48th or better.
The best came in the college football regular season. Georgia returned 75, Burke's card reached 338, and the result placed 10th for 241.5 league points. October had already supplied 25th in MLB behind Toronto's 94.
His postseason work kept returning to the same high neighborhood. The College Football Playoff entry ranked 36th, followed by 37th in the NFL Playoffs, 31st in March and 37th in golf. The major-championship portfolio produced 475 even though The Open contributed only 47.5.
The two misses did not move him at all. Burke's 1755.5-point total holds 7th place, proof that a season can absorb a pair of disasters when nearly everything else lives near the front.
