Andrew Myers briefly found a different version of his season in March. He made 8 straight survivor picks and reached Day 6 before Iowa State stopped him, returning 203.5 points and 32nd. For one bracket, patience did more than pay; it changed the scale of what looked possible.
Baseball offered the nearest support. The Dodgers returned 69 inside an 85-point board, good for 163 points from 89th. The NBA read hit 3 of 5 win totals and added 131 from 119th. Most of the calendar never reached those heights, but it did keep the March run from standing entirely alone.
Then the final 3 boards went dark. The World Cup returned 11.5 and ranked 230th; the NHL followed with 20.5 and 212th, then golf with 11 and 231st. That sequence cost Myers 34 places and left 858 points at 229th. March survives as more than consolation; it is the season's counterfactual.
