Plain language
The rating makes finishes from different years and field sizes easier to compare. It is a record of performance, not a forecast.
A player starts at 50 with the equivalent of four middle-of-field finishes. Recorded results then move the rating up or down, and that starting pull fades as the record grows. The score is not a winning percentage or a forecast.
A first-place finish in a smaller field and a first-place finish in a larger field land at the same end of the scale. The middle of any field lands near 50.
Players tied at the same place receive the midpoint of the positions their tie occupies. A tie never counts as though every player held the best place alone.
A sport rating enters the ranking after at least four ranked finishes across at least two seasons. A separate sport board appears when it combines at least two contest lines; smaller samples remain provisional.
Contest boards normally require four ranked finishes. When the archive is short, the minimum is half of the longest recorded sample, rounded up, with a floor of two. There is no separate season minimum.
Entries marked no points recorded are excluded. Seasons that preserve only the overall table do not help or hurt a sport or contest rating.
The boards cover current members and the past results linked to their profiles. They are not an all-time ranking of every person who has ever played.
Through 2025-26. Among the current field, using linked histories. The archive includes years with final standings but no contest detail, and those years are not used here. Equal displayed ratings share a rank. Ratings are descriptive, not forecasts.
